TeacherHero in ChatGPT

TeacherHero in ChatGPT connects your TeacherHero account to a ChatGPT conversation. You ask for a week of lessons in plain language, each day appears beside the chat with all six gradual-release parts, and you can revise one part or request student and teacher files without leaving the conversation. Your curriculum stays in TeacherHero, and you can disconnect at any time.

How it works.

Five steps, from the first connection to files in your hand. Everything you make is a real TeacherHero lesson, saved in your account.

  1. Step 1: Connect your account

Add TeacherHero in ChatGPT and sign in once. TeacherHero shows you what the connection allows and asks you to approve it. ChatGPT never sees your password.

  2. Step 2: Ask for a week

Say the grade, subject, topic and learning target in your own words. TeacherHero shows the plan it proposes first, and builds the week when you say go.

  3. Step 3: See it beside the chat

Each day appears as a card next to the conversation with its six parts: Warm-Up, I Do, We Do, Y’all Do, You Do and Exit Ticket. Open any part to read it as the teacher or as students will.

  4. Step 4: Revise one part

Highlight a sentence and ask for a change, or ask for a new version of a single part. Direct text and lesson-setup edits offer undo. For a regenerated part, you can restore its earlier version on the TeacherHero website. The other parts stay exactly as they were.

  5. Step 5: Get the files

Ask for the student packet, slides, answer key or lesson plan. The link opens only after you sign in to TeacherHero, so a link left in a chat is no use to anyone else.

What ChatGPT can see.

You approve the connection before anything is shared, and the approval screen says the same thing this page does.

It can

  • Identify the connected account using your TeacherHero account ID, display name and email.
  • Read your courses, units, weeks and lessons when you ask about them.
  • Edit lessons when you ask it to, and build lessons and materials for you.
  • Read the confirmed excerpt of a source you switched on for a lesson.

It cannot

  • See text from an uploaded file that you have not confirmed. It never leaves TeacherHero.
  • Change your billing, read your password or delete your account. No tool exists for any of them.
  • See another teacher’s curriculum. Every request is limited to your own account.

Lesson text and the account ID, name and email returned by the account-identification tool go to OpenAI under your ChatGPT account’s own data settings. Name and email on the home card are widget display data hidden from the conversation model. TeacherHero’s trust page lists what is stored and sent. Read what we store and send.

Disconnect any time.

Open the account menu behind your name in TeacherHero, choose Connected apps, then Disconnect. The connection and everything it was allowed to do stop at once, and you can connect again whenever you like. Deleting your TeacherHero account removes the connection too.

Frequently asked questions

What is TeacherHero in ChatGPT?

It is a connection between your TeacherHero account and ChatGPT. You plan lessons by chatting, and the lessons are real TeacherHero lessons saved in your account, so you can open them on the website and keep editing there. Nothing lives only inside the chat.

What can ChatGPT see in my TeacherHero account?

Only after you approve the connection: your account ID, name and email to identify the linked account, and the courses, weeks, lessons and confirmed source excerpts it needs to answer you. Text from uploaded files you have not confirmed never leaves TeacherHero, and neither do your password or billing details.

Is my curriculum used to train a model?

TeacherHero never uses your curriculum to train a model. What ChatGPT does with lesson text it reads in a conversation is set by your ChatGPT account’s data settings, which you manage inside ChatGPT, so check them first if that matters to you. The trust page explains the difference.

Do I need a TeacherHero account first?

Yes, because the lessons are saved to an account. If you do not have one, you can create it during the connection and you land back on the approval screen. A new account opens with a worked example week, and includes a starter week of AI generation to try it.

How do I disconnect it?

In TeacherHero, open the account menu behind your name, choose Connected apps, and press Disconnect next to ChatGPT. Access stops immediately. Your lessons are untouched, because they were always stored in TeacherHero, and you can reconnect at any time with a fresh approval.

Can my students use it?

No. It is a planning tool for teachers, and students never connect to it. What students receive is what you choose to hand them: the packet, slides and handouts you ask for, which TeacherHero builds without answer keys in the student copies.

Plan with TeacherHero wherever you already work.

Your lessons stay in your account, ready to open on the website, edit by hand and export whenever you want them.
