Terms

Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and CX Ventures LLC for using TeacherHero, including its connection to ChatGPT. In short: you own your curriculum, you review AI-generated lessons before they reach students, you keep student information out, billing runs through Stripe and you can cancel at any time, and Georgia law governs.

Effective · CX Ventures LLC

The agreement

TeacherHero is a service of CX Ventures LLC (“CX Ventures”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, signing in, or connecting TeacherHero to ChatGPT, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use TeacherHero.

If you use TeacherHero for a school or district, you confirm you may accept these terms for that use. We do not currently sign separate district agreements.

What TeacherHero is

TeacherHero is an AI-assisted tool for planning courses, units, weeks and daily lessons, and for building the classroom materials that go with them. It is a paid beta: features change, some may be removed, and the service may be interrupted. We will try to keep it running and to tell you about changes that matter, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18. TeacherHero is for adult educators, not for children or students.
  • Give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and do not share your account. You are responsible for what happens under it, including what is done through a connection you approve.
  • Tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.

Using TeacherHero acceptably

Please do not:

  • enter student names, records, work or other student-identifying information. TeacherHero has no student accounts and is not designed to hold them;
  • upload or publish anything you do not have the right to share;
  • use TeacherHero to make decisions about, or to profile or evaluate, an individual student;
  • use it to produce material that is unlawful, harassing, hateful or harmful to children;
  • probe, attack or overload the service, work around its limits, or reach it by automated means other than the ChatGPT connection and tools we provide;
  • resell the service or its output as a competing product.

We may limit, suspend or remove content or access that breaks these rules.

AI-generated content is yours to review

TeacherHero uses AI models to write lessons, questions, answer keys and other material. AI can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or biased, and two teachers asking similar things may get similar results. A check against your learning target or a standard is an aid to your judgment, not a guarantee of alignment.

You are the teacher. Read, edit and approve anything before it reaches students, and check facts, quotations, numbers and answer keys yourself. You are responsible for how you use what TeacherHero produces.

Your content

You own the curriculum you write, the files you upload, and the lessons TeacherHero generates for you. We do not claim ownership of any of it, and we do not use it to train models.

You give us permission to host and process it only as far as needed to run TeacherHero for you: to store it, to send the context an AI model needs to write what you ask for, to show it to you, and to build your files. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other teachers already made from the library, described next.

The lesson library. Nothing is published unless you publish it. When you publish a lesson you confirm you have the right to share it and have removed student-identifying information, and you allow other TeacherHero teachers to read it and copy it into their own accounts to use and adapt in their own teaching. A copy another teacher already made stays theirs if you later withdraw the lesson or delete your account. Your display name is shown with it.

TeacherHero’s software, design and our own content belong to CX Ventures. If you send us ideas or feedback we may use them without owing you anything for it.

Billing

A TeacherHero account is free to open, with a worked example you can explore. A starter week of lessons comes with every account, no card needed. After that, AI generation needs a paid subscription, billed through Stripe. What it costs, and whether a trial applies, is on the pricing page, and is what you see in Stripe’s checkout before you agree.

  • Subscriptions renew until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the account menu: Plan & billing, then Manage subscription, which opens Stripe’s billing portal. The portal shows when your access ends.
  • Your existing curriculum and exports stay available if you cancel.
  • Deleting your account does not by itself end a subscription, so cancel first.
  • If we change the price we will tell you before it affects you, and you can cancel before it does.
  • If you think you were charged in error, email us and we will look into it.
  • Billing happens on our website, never inside ChatGPT.

The ChatGPT connection

You can connect your TeacherHero account to ChatGPT so that you can plan and revise lessons from a conversation. It is optional.

  • ChatGPT is a separate service from OpenAI, under OpenAI’s own terms. What you type there, and how ChatGPT handles it, is between you and OpenAI.
  • Connecting means you approve the access shown on the approval screen. Lesson content that ChatGPT asks for is returned to it and handled under your ChatGPT account’s data settings. See the privacy policy.
  • What you ask ChatGPT to do in your TeacherHero account, including creating, editing and regenerating lessons, is done as you and counts toward your allowance as it would on the website.
  • You can disconnect at any time from Account, Connected apps, and it takes effect at once.
  • We may change or remove the connection, and we are not responsible for ChatGPT being unavailable or for what it says.

Other services

TeacherHero relies on OpenAI (AI models), Google (sign-in and, if you choose, Drive export), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), GIPHY (GIFs you choose to add) and Cloudflare (network). Your use of each is also subject to its own terms. We are not responsible for their services.

Disclaimers

TeacherHero is provided as is and as available, as a beta. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suited to a particular purpose, and we give no warranty about the accuracy of anything an AI model writes. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose; the Export center is there for that.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, CX Ventures is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost data or lost time, arising from your use of TeacherHero. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using TeacherHero at any time, and you can delete your account yourself from the account menu. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your use puts the service or others at risk, if a payment fails and is not resolved, or if the law requires; unless the problem is serious or urgent we will tell you first. When your account ends, your content is handled as described in the privacy policy. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as ownership, disclaimers, limits on liability and governing law, do.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for a material change, tell signed-in teachers in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using TeacherHero after a change takes effect, you accept it; if you do not, you can delete your account.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from TeacherHero, are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

General

These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about TeacherHero. If part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your account to someone else.
